A Vibrant Sight Along Easthills Trail - Takayama

The sites of Tenshouji Temple and Shinmei Jinja Shrine offer the most brilliant fall foliage along the trail. Tenshouji Temple built in 1182-1185, was once the home to Tendai Sect Buddhism but the practice was subsequently extinct. The temple was converted to Jodo Sect after rebuilt and restored in 1615-1624. This was the temple where the 6th son of Ieyasu Tokugama stayed after he fell out with his father and banished to Hida.

The flight of ascending steps by the side of Tenshouji Temple was the entrance to Shinmeijinja. It was a Lord's Shrine. In the past, there was a storage area transferred and rebuilt from the Moon Viewing Room of Takayama Castle, to keep offering information. The place was accommodated also with a stand and a Noh dancing stage for festival but all were dismantled.

The vibrant falls foliage sight along the trail made us suffocated!

Overwhelming colored world.

Gorgeous!

Amidst the colorful nature, stand the temple halls.

A thrilling flaming red !

We envy those who accommodated at the guest house in front of Tenshouji Temple. Being embraced by such a wonderful sight of nature, they must be having an enjoyable stay in Takayama.
