The five districts of Okushida Hot Spring Villages are along the scenic route to Shinhokata Rope Way. The whole area was encircled by the magnificent natural environment of Northern Alps. The historical Okushida has more open-air hot spring baths than any where else in Japan as it is gifted with abundance of spring water bubbling forth from the earth. Each onsen village has its own distinct spring water and its own unique charm and there are many foot-baths for you to soak your feet, free no charge.
Being a simple and tranquil village tucked away in the valleys between mountains, Okushida is an ideal place to experience a local tradition culture and an old way of living.
