The heavenly highlands - Shirakawa-go

The one hour ride from Takayama City to Shirakawa-go is one of the most scenic route in Japan especially during Falls. The ranges of Hida Highlands are shaded in brilliant color appear in distance as if mountains on flame. The mist floating within the valleys create an illusion that it must be a place where fairies live.

The ranges of Hida Mountains also known as Northern Alps of Japan, stretches through Nagano Toyama and Gifu Takayama Prefecture.

The mist like smoke of burning incense wreathed round the mountain ranges.

A look to the mysteries and wonders of nature in a bus ride!

The scenic Shogawa River Valley at the foot of Haku Mountain in Ryohaku Ranges is home to the world heritage site of Shirogawa and Gokayama remote villages where about 180 units of more than 250 years old unique thatched roof farmhouses with its sheds and barns, stand.

The driving course weaving its way up the mountain down the valley heading towards the fairy land of Shirakawa-go
