Thrills of Nature - Kurobe Valley, Toyama

Riding a Train through Kurobe Gorge is a true delight. The 90 minutes journey leading across bridges and tunnels, winding through mountains and ranges that stretches 20km between Unazuki and Keyakidaira Station, is most magnificent. The scenic beauty embellished by the luscious nature offers one of the most thriving nature sights of Japan, especially in the brilliant fall foliage season like what I experienced now. I have no word to describe the beauty of Kurobe Gorge but borrowed from a phrase I came across in a magazine. It said: "Dollops of color and textures embedded in the lunar-like landscape unfolded like a chromatic painting" and it fits the sight well.

Train ride is the best way to enjoy a panoramic views of Gorge beneath the rail.

The colorful leaves at the mountain slopes along the emerald green stream are really as if a huge painting hanging down from the sky.

The view of Kurobe Gorge changes as the train weaving its way up to Keyakidaira Station.

Kurobe Gorge has the deepest valley, steep and vertical cliffs, virgin forests, various type of hot-springs, history and culture handed down from the past. It has no reason not to become a hot attraction to nature lovers.

Dashidaira is one of the station the train stop for visitors to view its 6 rocky mountains peaks around Dashidaira Dam.

The majestic mountains surrounding Daishidaira Dam.

Nezumigaeshi-no Ganpeki Towers over Kurobe River No. 2 Power Station is notable for its intimidating 200 meters high rock face.

The emerald Kurobe River singing its way through mountains and ranges.

Observe the dual colors of Kurobe River that cut through mountains and ranges in the gorge.

Suspended bridges normally are built specially to ease the activity of wild monkeys, making conveniences for them to move freely from one side of the forest to another.

A nature marvel!

Pictures are taken by two cameras while the train is climbing up or descending from the mountains. The above posted were not in sequence in accordance to the rail route as I was too immersed in the thrills of nature at that moment, and now I confused, in which part of the gorge they exist. Apologized, should there be any information wrongly stated therein!
