Morning Market - Hanoi



Daily routine of Hanoi residents around Old Quarter starts early. Do what the locals do, blend into them in the morning market was the most interesting experience in Hanoi.



Abundant fruits displaying on the ground at every corner of Old Quarter morning market... tiny apples, Vietnamese apple, pear, grapes, longan, fresh and tempting.



Banana, green mandarin orange as well as "Buddha's head" which is very popular in Taiwan are among the fruit varieties.



Yellow rock melon, green guava and Red Vietnamese famous dragon fruit and brown longan are colorful tropical fruits that most Asian love.



Rambutan are as attractive as their grapes and longan.



The mini sized pomelo and the interesting "Buddha's hand" which are the most common fruit for offering to Buddhist Temples in Hanoi.



The vivid and beautiful roses and lily flowers.



The Fragrant little Jasmine flowers and Magnolia Yulan petals which are used for offering when praying.



Early morning, the florists already begin engaged in their work, busy in flower arrangement at the shop



While "Bicycle store" are also busy selling fresh flowers in loose stalk.

Many are selling longan at an offered price as the fruit is in its season.

Green vegetables are also sold in small scheme in baskets carried on bicycles.

Every thing is done on the "5 foot way" in front of the shops, selling, buying or sorting the vegetable.....



Bicycles are an essential medium tool for most hawkers, including seller for delicate bean curd (taufoo) or titbits pop-corn

Fresh pork and chicken are sold on small stool or even on the ground along the 5 foot way.



Snail spout, known as "Tu Hai" in Vietnamese, is kind of shellfish which are prepared by locals in soup, salad, baked or stewed. It is said that one will never forget the taste if enjoy once.



Fish and shrimp are carried around on shoulders selling to buyers at any spot on ground. m1out





Selling all kind of kitchen utensils, in metal, porcelain, and plastic.



There are also people selling chinaware, woman lingerie like bra and underwear, brushes and broom etc. Hanoi morning market is a huge open bazaar providing all kinds of items and products people required in their living.
