A Scenic Route To Jingo-Ji Temple - Takao

Takao is a thinly populated small village in Kitayama mountains at north west of Kyoto. It is home to three historical superb temples: Kozanji, Saimyoji and Jingoji that were established before Heian period (794-1185). The entire area of this lovely village is embraced by deep nature.

The fall foliage in Takao is most popular, attracting many locals and abroad to admire its color shaded mountains and valleys each year in autumn.

A brief directive map to the three ancient temples.

Follow the stone steps that bring you deep into the forested valley where you can proceed further to the destination of Jingoji Temple site.

A tinted range!

Uprising morning mist make the ranges appeared as if an incensed wreathed heaven land.

The foliage offered from Mt Takao is fabulous

A color shaded site.

Little living quarter is found quietly nesting in the beautiful valley.

The charm of nature.

The man-made red bridge built over Kiyotaki River becomes an attractive land mark of Takao Valley, the starting point to the three temples.

Kiyotaki River is part of the beautiful scenery.

I just wish I had time to be like the Japanese nature lovers, seated close to a running river, open air, under a color shaded environment, enjoying my meals.

Begin your journey to Jingo-ji Temple complex from this long flight of steps, there are hundreds of them, tiring but joyful.

The path where Hotel Kanko and some cafe and restaurants located, leads to the other two old temples Saimyoji and Jingoji.

A true place of amusement to have seated and had a set of lunch with good friends !

The tradition wooden steamer and more interesting is the tempura maple leaves!
