A Base for Trekkers - Pokhara

Pokhara the third largest city in Nepal, is a popular base for trekkers to Himalayan Mountain ranges as three of the highest mountains in the world (Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Manshu), are within 30 miles of the city. It is the most famous tourist destination in the nation locating just 200km west of its Capital Kathmandu.

The inspiring landscape and mountain scenery.

Pokhara is populated with 265 thousand inhabitants who live harmoniously in the valleys with surrounded mountains.

Terraced farm fields in the valley.

The pretty young lady opens a little shop along the track, not only offers supply of water and snacks to trekkers but also gives convenience to trekkers upon nature calls.

A simple home but a happy life.

The valley became lively with a tint of yellow complimented from rapeseed flowers.

Seniors need a helping hand from juniors when coming to steep and sharp corners like this, along the trail.

World Peace Pagoda was our destination.

A diversity of beautiful landscape.

The stunning view of mountain ranges.

World Peace Pagoda stands ahead above the staircase and beyond the building structures.

In front of the arch gate of World Peace Pagoda with our young, patient and informative local guide, Umesh Sirpali who is also very well verse in English .

World Peace Pagoda built by Japanese in 1996 across southern shore of Phewa Lake, is one of the major hilltops to view the panoramic sight of the city and its surroundings.

A gold gilded seated Buddha image is enshrined at the main front altar.

The Japanese Pagoda has four altars at its 4 directions with main image of Buddha Sakyamuni in front and postures of Buddha in birth, in enlightenment and in Nirvana
