The Stay, the Food and the People - Pokhara

There are about 300 hotels and guest houses in Pokhara but only two of them are considered as 5-stars. Hotel Pokhara Grande that located at Pardi area in the center of city, is one of them. It is considered as one of the best and finest ten hotels in Nepal. We enjoyed the stay in Grande while we had 4 days vacation in Pokhara. The efficiency in management and hospitality of its staff made us comfortable like at home.

Every morning while opening our eyes, we were offered with spectacular views of Himalayas from the large window of our room.

An unhindered view of Himalayas mountain ranges from southern fringes of the sky entirely exposed under our eyelids.

The Newari houses that garnished the snow-capped mountains are like pieces of drawing arts.

Temples and old Newari Houses are part of Pokhara city.

Looking at mountains is always not bored as each and every moment is different

Another style and version of flower arrangement, using no whole flowers but petals only. The outer ring of orange petals are obtained from the creeping plants that grown wildly at the wall of hotel building.

The orange petals of these blossom flowers are the main material used for Nepalese flower arrangement, that are displayed at the front door to greet the guests.

Almost every corners of the hotel are decorated or planted with seasonal flowers.

An authentic Nepalis tradition set meal offered with ten courses, arranged beautifully in individual copper-ware.

The dishes that include raw salad, cooked green vegetable, stewed cauliflower, black lentils. mango pudding and sweet carrot desert are quite balance in diet and healthy. We enjoyed it not only for the taste of the food but also for the delicate work and kind thoughts that the chef applied on it.

It was my birthday and the hotel made me a cake and celebrated for me with all its guests who were present in the dinning hall. The kind gesture of the chef and his crew had made my birthday a very special one this year. Thank you so much!

Hotel Grande is equipped with a crew of most wonderful staff in their management and operation. They are fast in action, very helpful, friendly, and courteous to all their guests and most importantly never failed to make all of us at home.

Have interest to understand Nepalese language, start with their basic vowels that stated clearly on the board in the dinning hall.

Relaxation moment! Its fun to try the Indian tradition oil dripping treatment and it was a very different feeling when hot oil starting to drop by drop dripping on your forehead at the spot between two eyes.....

It was interesting to strol down into the center of Pardi area, 30 minutes walk from Grande Hotel to this serene Dam Park and have a little peep through the daily life of the locals.

The home of Newaris along lake side.

The dam lies at the side of hills as if a large mirror automatically reflecting everything on earth that are above or nearby it.

Gorgeous!

Fulbari Resort Hotel is the other five star hotel in Pokhara, It is very very impressive from outlook but quite ran down internally and that helped us to make our right choice to stay in Grande
